For those of you who are unaware, tomorrow is the K-Mart Hot Wheels collectors' event. It's free to attend and you are guaranteed a chance at being the first to dig through a brand new, sealed case. If there are more people than cases, they get raffled off, but you still get to pick through the leftovers and there is always some amazing stuff. So, if you don't have any major plans, be at K-Mart by 9:00 AM. Be sure to get a physical receipt, too, in case you decide to participate in the mail-in promotion. And be extra sure to double check all the '55 Bel Air Gassers, since that's the $uper Trea$ure Hunt this time around. If it has rubber wheels, buy it even if you don't want it because they'll be incredibly easy to trade or sell. The grey Loop Coupe with yellow wheels is the regular TH, but if you want to pass on that one that's fine. Still not bad for trade bait or to hold onto for a while, or to give to me for free because you love me so much, or whatever.

Thanks for the heads up! The Kmart right near me is participating. Wonder what happens if you are the only person to show up for the event? I doubt there are many HW collectors in my neighborhood. Maybe they will give me 10 Cases to look through!

You'll be surprised. Usually you get a few scalpers bringing their whole extended families just to scoop up all the Treasure Hunts and put them on eBay... Such a way to ruin the fun.
Then again, last time I was one of three people and got four cases to myself!

So do they have just the special-edition ones there, or do they also have boxes of the regular hot wheels? I'm looking for stuff thats available anywhere, i.e. LaFerrari, Mars Curiosity Rover, etc.

K-Mart exclusives, but also others. You won't find a Mars Rover though, since these will be the newest cases.

Well I just finished up at kmart. It was pretty fun, got 25 cars I didn't have already including a LaFerrari and a Homer. They had about 10 boxes out and when I got there 1 guy had already gone through 9 of them, and it was 840! Thought they would wait til 9, whoops! He bought about 100-150 cars, with lots of multiples. Didn't get to look and see exactly what so not sure if there was anything I really wanted. Oh well, now I know for next time, and it was still fun.
Maybe I'll hit another kmart and look through the leftovers there.
